Christian Bookshop Ossett

Fisher Solutions were commissioned by Jeremy and Lorna Roe of the Christian Bookshop in Ossett (Yorkshire) to update their website that was consuming too much of their time through maintenance. The requirements were a fresh design to the site and a MySQL backend that could easily communicate with their main stock control database built in MS Access.

The project was completed in two phases in order to spread the cost make it convenient for the client. Phase one was a graphical redesign of the site along with the MySQL database and online product inventory.

Phase two was the construction of a shopping cart system to allow visitors to purchase the products from the invetory directly from the webiste, this also includes a payment gateway powered by RBS Worldpay.

The website design was based on specific critetria provided by the client. The site was built without a content management system, however the HTML and CSS for the pages was kept as simple as possible and commented thouroughly to enable the client to make their own updates to the site without need to keep coming back to us.

The MYSQL database holds both the product details for genorating the listings and homepage content as well as the shopping cart session details. On completion of an order the site sends a customized multi format email to both the customer and the client.
