Database Design

Fisher Solutions can offer database solutions to meet the individual clients needs at a price that is realistic and affordable. Our database systems are created using IBM lotus notes. The systems are completely bespoke and tailored to fit exactly the needs of the individual organisation.

We have extensive experience in developing bespoke databases for all kinds of purposes - including: Content Mangement Systems (CMS), Contact Relationship Systems (CRM), Charity Donor Tracking and Gift Aid Management.

What is Lotus Notes?

IBM Lotus Notes is a Client/Server based application, this means that there are two parts to it: 1) The Client - the software that the users work with to edit the database, and 2) The server - this stores all of the data in a central location allowing multiple 'Clients' to connect and share the same live data. The server also enables websites to collect or potentially pull information from a database securely and relatively simply. Although larger organisations may well own their own server, the most cost effective way is usually to rent 'webspace' on an Internet Service Provider's server.

There is another component needed with the Client and the Server in order to create a useful system, and that is the Database itself. A Lotus Notes database is usually a bespoke system that is tailored to meet the owners needs. The structure of such databases is built and modified by Lotus Notes developers (such as Fisher Solutions). The capabilities of such databases are therefore only limited by the creativity of the developer and awareness of the owners needs.
